We’ve put together a short survey to gather the views of the people who matter – those living with type 2 diabetes, their carers and the healthcare professionals who help them. The survey will take less than five minutes to complete and your answers will help to shape the new website. Your responses will be completely anonymous and there are no right or wrong answers. Opportunity to join programme boards for cardiac, stroke and respiratory workstreams of the NHS Long Term Plan
The British Heart Foundation (BHF), the British Lung Foundation (BLF) and the Stroke Association (SA) are working together to find six Patient Voice Representatives to help take forward the NHS England Long Term Plan. This will be your chance to help drive improvement in how the NHS prevents, detects and treats heart, respiratory and circulatory conditions. Use your voice and patient / carer experiences to influence decisions and ensure these are focussed on what matters most to patients and carers. For more information on getting involved visit the BHF, BLF or SA websites (as appropriate for your experiences) deadlines for applications are 20th and 26th August (depending on experience / interest area).
Health Education England (HEE) is looking to recruit new lay members for its national Patient Advisory Forum; an advisory group to HEE’s Board, which supports us to provide high-quality healthcare training and education for the NHS workforce. This group was first established in 2013 and we are now looking to recruit new members as a number have completed their term of office.
Do you live in England and are able to offer eight to ten days per year? Can you bring learning from lived experience as a patient or a carer? Are you able to help us ensure that patients and the public are at the heart of the education, training and workforce planning processes? Whilst these are not salaried positions, we offer a rate of up to £150 per day, along with out of pocket expenses. Interviews are planned for the 16th and 18th September in central London. An application pack and further information is attached and available online. Applications should be in the form of a CV with a covering letter that sets out how your experience would enable you to advocate for service users and the public within the Forum.
